The Gijón city council has launched a public consultation on amendments to its Waste and Urban Hygiene Ordinance. The proposed changes would ban the discharge of settleable solids, aggressive chemicals, and any liquids that hinder biological wastewater treatment. The rules also target tanker trucks on public roads, chemical toilets at events and construction sites, caravan black water disposal, and the draining of communal swimming pools. The consultation runs until the 27th; residents over 16 registered in the city may participate.
