A Guernsey resident, Mark Ferbrache, has called for the relaxation of rules that currently prohibit living in motorhomes or caravans outside approved campsites. Under current guidance, stays are generally limited to one month, though sometimes up to three. Ferbrache, who lived in his campervan for two years while renovating his home, argues that allowing overnight stays on private property would help islanders in similar situations. The Development and Planning Authority and the Housing Committee have been approached for comment.
