San Fernando: inquiry about Camposoto beach
The opposition People's Party (PP) of San Fernando has sent a request to the city council demanding clarification on the criteria for allocating about 40 free parking spaces for motorhomes at Camposoto beach. The party notes that the site has no limit on the length of stay, while during the summer season the beach suffers from a severe shortage of parking for locals and tourists.
PP also requests information on measures for the disposal of grey and black water, as the parking area lacks the necessary infrastructure. The opposition insists on the need for transparent regulation and planning to balance tourism interests with the needs of residents.
Lanzarote: proposal for a municipal ordinance
At the same time, PP Lanzarote has put forward a proposal for a municipal ordinance to regulate the use of motorhomes, caravans and campers on the island. The initiative aims to organise parking, restrict wild camping and create designated equipped areas for overnight stays.
According to the party, the growth of this type of tourism after the pandemic and the lack of uniform rules between municipalities have put a strain on infrastructure. The proposal is part of the II Plan for Active Municipalities of the Canary Islands, which provides for the development of new regulations for campsites and overnight zones.
