In Spain, debates continue over motorhome parking regulations. In Ribamontán al Mar (Cantabria), the opposition People's Party (PP) has questioned changes to the parking ordinance in the blue zone of Somo and Loredo. According to the opposition, the current rule already prohibits parking such vehicles in these spaces, so they are asking for alternative options.
Meanwhile, on the island of La Palma, in the municipality of El Paso, the PP has put forward a proposal to develop a municipal ordinance regulating motorhome parking. The document, to be presented at the next plenary session by councillor Nayra Castro, aims to distinguish between parking, overnight stays and camping for campers and motorhomes. It also includes rules on waste management, environmental protection and municipal control, as well as studying the possibility of creating special areas for such vehicles.
The initiative seeks to ensure coexistence and protect the urban and natural environment, as El Paso currently lacks specific regulation for this type of tourism.
