Luxembourg's Ministry of Economy has launched the "Destination Camper Park(ing)" project to develop a network of motorhome parking areas. Since the start of the year, nine fines for illegal camping and nine fines for unauthorised parking of caravans or similar vehicles on public roads or in green areas have been issued at Lake Upper Sûre. Fines range from 24 to 1,000 euros. The project includes Standard and Premium categories, with communes and non-profit organisations encouraged to invest and eligible for financial support. The ministry also funds public toilets at tourist sites but does not recommend installing them at all parking areas, as this could encourage wild camping.
