Preliminary data for the 2026 tourism season in Luxembourg show overnight stays at campsites rose 13% year-on-year to 914,000. Total arrivals in the tourism sector from January to July 2026 increased 3% and overnight stays 6%, with 950,000 guests and 2.25 million overnight stays. Hotel overnight stays fell 3% and youth hostel stays 1%. Most visitors came from the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium. Parc Merveilleux in Bettembourg was the most visited attraction with 219,693 visitors, down 6%. Public investment in tourism is set at €70 million for 2023–2027, and the ministry is preparing the next five-year plan from 2028.

In 2025, Luxembourg's campsites welcomed nearly 333,000 tourists, a 50% increase compared to 2019. Overnight stays reached almost 1.3 million, nearly 30% more than in 2019. Tourism Minister Lex Delles said camping is no longer a niche but a driving force for tourism, speaking at the CARAVAN trade fair in Düsseldorf, where Luxembourg had a stand.

The award was handed over to representatives of the local tourism syndicate (SITG) in the presence of Anita Kramer from the association Camprilux. The P+R parking lot in Kockelscheuer, intended only for cars, has become a site for unauthorized motorhome parking. Local resident Philipp reports seeing about twenty motorhomes daily, some staying for weeks. Due to lack of facilities, visitors relieve themselves in the nearby forest, leaving used toilet paper and hygiene items, and also light illegal barbecues despite the drought. Between 20 and 30 campers are said to be parked daily on a parking lot in Kockelscheuer. Because there are no toilets, some leave their waste in the adjacent forest. A local resident, Philipp, reported the issue to the city, but no measures have been taken yet. The city of Luxembourg acknowledges the problem and is considering options, including height restrictions or a camper ban.

A car towing a caravan caught fire on the A3 motorway near the France-Luxembourg border on Wednesday afternoon. Firefighters arrived around 4:20 p.m., and the emergency lane was blocked. No injuries were reported, according to CGDIS.

Visit Luxembourg has published a list of campsites and motorhome stops across the country. Among them is the newly reopened Camping Toodlermillen on the Sauer river, now managed by youth organisations after a two-year closure. The site offers 120 pitches for tents and caravans, three for motorhomes, and zones for families and youth groups. In the Müllerthal region, Camping Martbusch provides 200 pitches, including spaces for motorhomes and camper vans, plus rental lodges. Near Luxembourg City, Camping Kockelscheuer has 161 pitches for tents, caravans, and motorhomes, with the city centre reachable by bus or tram.

The bistro at the Route du Vin campsite in Grevenmacher, closed for several weeks due to illness, may reopen on Friday. The Syndicat d'initiative has found an operator for the rest of the season — the owner of a restaurant in Mertert. Talks are also underway for the bistro at Kulturhuef, closed since December, but no reopening date has been set.

Police in Diekirch, Luxembourg, arrested a man who entered a campervan through the roof. He is also suspected of two other thefts.

The renovated Toodlermillen Family & Youth Camp in Tadler has opened, purchased by the state after the Keiser family put it up for sale. The 120-pitch site includes areas for tents, motorhomes, and caravans, plus a dedicated Youth Camp for groups. Managed by AJL and SNJ, it remains open to the public and targets families, youth groups, and scouts.

The Luxembourg state has purchased the Toodlermillen Family & Youth Camp, closed since 2024, from the Keiser family. The 120-pitch site in the Sauer Valley will serve as a hub for youth events, including scout camps for 500–1,000 participants. The first major camp is scheduled for summer 2028. The campsite is also open to families and travelers visiting the Upper Sauer Nature Park.

On the A1 highway in Luxembourg, a car collided with a camper, causing it to overturn. Both lanes were temporarily blocked, and the left lane remains closed for barrier repairs.
