As of 2025, a new paragraph in German traffic regulations requires owners of motorhomes with built-in gas systems to undergo regular inspections. The inspection is mandatory before first use and every two years thereafter, costing between €40 and €80. Violations can result in fines up to €60 and potential denial of access to campsites.
