Andorra temporarily allows campervan overnight stays during bike races despite fines

In response, the parish of Ordino plans to create new motorhome parking areas, including one near the Arcalís station, to manage the growing tourist flow. The first spots could be available by summer, and in central Ordino, at Plana dels Camps, expansion with services is planned.

Andorra has enforced a ban on overnight stays and camping in motorhomes and caravans outside official zones since 2025. Violators face a €600 fine, reduced to €300 if paid on the spot; refusal to pay results in vehicle seizure by police. The measure aims to reduce pressure on nature and infrastructure, following similar restrictions in Spain, Portugal, and France. Legal overnight options include campsites and designated areas, with an updated list available from the tourism office.

The Ordino parish council plans to expand and regulate spaces for motorhomes to balance tourist needs and local coexistence. One project is a parking area at the foot of the Ordino Arcalís station, intended for rest and overnight stays. Existing zones allow parking from 48 hours to seven consecutive days, with annual passes for residents at around 200 euros.
