Andorra has enforced a ban on overnight stays and camping in motorhomes and caravans outside official zones since 2025. Violators face a €600 fine, reduced to €300 if paid on the spot; refusal to pay results in vehicle seizure by police. The measure aims to reduce pressure on nature and infrastructure, following similar restrictions in Spain, Portugal, and France. Legal overnight options include campsites and designated areas, with an updated list available from the tourism office.

Caravan owners in Darıca protest mandatory paid parking

Authorities in Darıca district, Kocaeli province, have mandated caravan owners to use a paid parking lot in Millet Bahçesi park. Owners argue the lot lacks essential infrastructure like electricity and waste disposal, and the fees create a financial burden. They demand either free parking or a properly equipped municipal site with reasonable rates.

Andorra: Fines for overnight stays in motorhomes outside designated areas

A law has come into effect in Andorra imposing fines of up to 600 euros for overnight stays in motorhomes and campervans outside designated areas. Following an information period that began in July 2025, authorities may now start issuing fines, particularly for repeat offenses or overnight stays in protected areas like Tristaina or Engolasters lakes. Concurrently, parishes have created new overnight spots to better control the collection of the tourist tax, set at 1.05 euros per person per day.
