Production
Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has started production of the updated Multivan and California at its Hanover plant, uniting California camper production at a single facility for the first time. The Multivan is built at the Hanover-Stöcken site, while the California has been fully assembled at the main Hanover plant since August, ending the previous practice of external conversion.
Updates
Both models received a new front end, a revised cockpit and a plug-in hybrid all-wheel drive with 180 kW. The California, built on the Multivan platform, gets a new kitchen and inflatable interior elements developed with Stuff Bubble. The Grand California is available in 600 and 680 versions with an updated dashboard and optional 4MOTION all-wheel drive. The range also includes the Caddy California, Amarok with the Feather Lite II tent system and the new ID. Buzz Cruise California with V2L function and Overnight Mode.
Prices
In 2025, the Multivan sold 38,700 units — a record for the year. Prices in Germany start at 57,465 euros for the Multivan Trend and 66,087 euros for the California Beach.
