Volkswagen has introduced an optional "Good Night" package for the ID. Buzz, transforming the electric vehicle into a camper for two people. The set includes a foldable bed 120 cm wide (or a mattress measuring 2.0 by 1.2 meters), blackout curtains, a camping table and two chairs, as well as ventilation grilles in the front windows.
The "camping mode" function maintains cabin temperature for up to 48 hours or until the battery drops to 20%, optimizing energy consumption. A new V2L system allows powering external devices from the traction battery (a 2000 W or 230 V outlet).
The package price varies: around 40,000 Danish kroner, 31,200 Swedish kronor, or from 2,153 euros. Retrofitting older vehicles is not possible due to hardware limitations. A camping mode for stable nighttime temperature will be available from 2027.
