Swedish motorhome retail giant goes bankrupt

A unique motorhome based on a 1999 Scania T 114 with a hood configuration is for sale in Sweden. The vehicle is registered as a Class II vehicle, making it drivable with a standard Category B driver's license. The asking price is 1.5 million Swedish kronor, and it has a mileage of 88,000 miles.

The EU has approved a directive allowing drivers with a category B license to operate motorhomes up to 4.25 tonnes after additional training or a test. The proposal also permits towing a trailer if the total weight of the combination does not exceed 5 tonnes. Sweden has not yet decided how to implement these rules, which must be applied by November 26, 2029.

Swedish caravan and motorhome manufacturer Kabe reported its first loss-making quarter in over ten years in Q4 2025. The company remains the market leader for caravans in the Nordic region and has increased its market share despite challenging market conditions.

Dometic introduced the compact Unrestricted Small Backpack in early April 2026, combining cooler and everyday bag functions.
