Japanese railway operator Seibu Railway (Tokorozawa, Saitama Prefecture) has fully introduced camper vans as mobile rest stops since spring 2026 to protect field workers from heatstroke during extreme heat. A one-month trial in summer 2025 received positive feedback from employees, citing comfort and improved work efficiency. The vehicles are Vantec 'Cordbanks 4.11' units on Toyota Camroad chassis, equipped with air conditioning, refrigerator, microwave, and toilet, with a capacity of 6 people. Additionally, the company has deployed 'heatstroke monitoring watches' for 650 workers and a digital reporting system for symptoms.
