A hospital in Nantou County, Taiwan, has converted two campers into mobile medical units to serve remote areas. The vehicles are equipped with emergency care equipment, including electrocardiographs, ultrasound and X-ray machines, as well as telemedicine systems.
The units will serve mountainous and rural communities where access to healthcare is limited. According to one source, the launch coincides with Earth Day. The campers are reported to be worth several million Taiwan dollars (as stated in the sources).
