According to China Central Television, road travel accounted for over 90% of domestic trips during the National Day holiday, with self-driving tourism making up the majority. In 2025, total sales of motorised motorhomes in China exceeded 20,000 units for the first time. In the first half of 2026, cumulative registrations of motorised motorhomes surpassed 12,000 units, up 32.6% year-on-year, while the penetration rate of new-energy motorhomes reached 18.4%. By the end of 2025, there were more than 3,100 motorhome campsites across the country. Industry insiders expect full-year sales in 2026 to reach a new high, driven by holiday travel demand and supportive policies.
