Australian manufacturer MDC has unveiled the Off-Grid Extreme caravan, priced from $165,000 (€147,380). The caravan measures 9.04 metres long including the drawbar, 2.36 metres wide and 3.15 metres high, with a gross vehicle weight of 4.5 tonnes. Off-grid capability comes from 1,500 Ah of battery capacity, a 1,400 W peak solar system and two 3,000 W inverters. It is designed for three people and rated for use down to -10 degrees Celsius. The model is not officially offered in Germany and no dealer network exists there.
