Ford Nugget turns 40: anniversary edition and retro version unveiled

Ford is presenting the limited anniversary edition '40 Years of Nugget' at the CMT exhibition in Stuttgart, marking 40 years of the camper van model developed in collaboration with Westfalia. The model has evolved since 1986, adding a hybrid powertrain, an expanded range of variants, while retaining its characteristic interior zoning. The new generation launched in 2023 introduced a plug-in hybrid, a digital control panel, and improved equipment. In 2024, the range expanded with Active and Trail versions, as well as an all-wheel-drive option.

The Ford Nugget motorhome marks its 40th anniversary since its launch in 1986. Based on the Ford Transit, the model was initially positioned as a compact vehicle for daily use and travel, with an integrated kitchen at the rear. A key change in 2000 was the relocation of the kitchen to the central area and the division of space into living and sleeping zones.

Ford has unveiled a special retro edition of the Nugget camper van to celebrate the model's 40th anniversary. The anniversary model is based on the Active trim with the long L2 wheelbase and features a 2-litre EcoBlue diesel engine producing 170 hp. The black-and-white exterior and interior color scheme is a deliberate nod to the original 1986 Nugget. Orders are open now, with deliveries starting in spring at a German price of €89,646.

Ford has unveiled the limited Nugget 40° Aniversario edition to mark 40 years of its Transit-based camper van. The model features exclusive design with classic two-tone paint and enhanced equipment. The motorhome will debut at the Stuttgart caravan show and go on sale in Europe in the coming weeks.
