According to statistics from Vroom, compiled by Forsbergs Fritidscenter, three Swedish counties — Västra Götaland, Skåne and Stockholm — have 33,522 registered motorhomes, representing 37.4% of the national total of 89,630. Västra Götaland tops the list with 16,754 units, followed by Skåne with 8,608 and Stockholm with 8,160. At the municipal level, Gothenburg has the most (2,070), followed by Kristianstad (713) and Stockholm (1,741).
In the first five months of 2026, 2,681 new motorhomes were registered in Sweden, a 57% increase compared to the same period in 2025 (1,708 units). The growth is attributed to the popularity of motorhomes among various groups, used for both long trips and short outings to events. Meanwhile, the caravan (trailer) market declined by 17.5% due to sensitivity to economic uncertainty, as buyers prefer used options or postpone major purchases.
