Dacia's plans for a motorhome

Due to rising airfare and fuel prices in 2026, camper vans are being considered as an alternative for summer travel. Five itineraries across France and Europe are presented with estimated budgets starting at 50 euros per day, a cost comparison with air travel, and a review of rental platforms like Yescapa with rates from 40 euros per day.

The Camping-car Park network has published its annual ranking of the most used motorhome stops in France. Most popular stops are coastal, with Noirmoutier recording over 77,000 overnight stays and Amboise 15,000.

Spanish manufacturer Benimar has introduced the compact Tessoro 481 motorhome, measuring under 6 meters in length. Based on a Ford Transit, the model features a lounge with an L-shaped sofa and side seating for 6-8 people, a kitchen unit with a 150-liter refrigerator, and a separate shower. The vehicle is priced at €61,590.

Webasto has introduced updated roof air conditioners in the Cool Top Trail series, which use R32 refrigerant. This gas has three times lower global warming potential compared to R410A, and the units themselves are 0.5 kg lighter. The line includes five models with power from 2 to 3.6 kW, suitable for motorhomes, camper vans, and caravans.

Singer Kendji Girac explained that he has adopted a more sedentary lifestyle due to his children's schooling. He stated that he uses his caravan for travel during holidays and purchased a large plot of land in Essonne where his family's caravans are stationed.

The 12.87 km Fréjus Tunnel connecting France and Italy charges motorhomes and vehicles with trailers 73.40–74.70 euros for a one-way passage. According to updated 2026 tariffs, the alternative mountain pass route takes up to two hours.
