Spanish manufacturers Benimar and Panama have introduced camper vans based on Ford vehicles, marketed as more affordable alternatives to the Volkswagen California.
Benimar Yrteo
- Available in two versions: Yrteo 840 (length 5990 mm) and Yrteo 861 (6690 mm), both 2140 mm wide.
- Price: from 60,000 euros for the 840 and from 62,000 euros for the 861, roughly half the price of some Volkswagen California trims.
- Powered by a 2.0 EcoBlue diesel engine with 130 or 165 hp.
- Standard equipment: parking sensors, rearview camera, emergency braking system, 12-inch multimedia screen, kitchen with gas hob and 70-liter fridge.
Panama P09
- Based on the Ford Tourneo Transit Custom.
- Price: from 52,900 euros, which is 30,000 euros cheaper than a comparable California.
- Equipped with a diesel engine of 136 or 170 hp, all-wheel drive available.
