Carstay began renting the SAny.VAN Pop-up Room camper on September 15. The vehicle is based on a standard Toyota HiAce, fully converted from a 2013 used camper at the Mobi Lab. facility in Yokohama. A pop-up roof expands interior height from about 1.4 m to a maximum of 2.4 m, and sleeping space accommodates four adults; pets are allowed. Equipment includes a 40-inch screen with projector, air conditioning and heating that operate without the engine running, a 400 Ah lithium-ion battery, a 144 W solar panel, an outdoor gas stove, and optional sleeping bags, camping chairs, table and lanterns. Rental rates are 9,000 yen per 12 hours and 18,000 yen per 24 hours plus a system fee; pickup is available at Mobi Lab. and nearby stations and facilities. The company aims for three bookings over 10 days by September 23 and an average of 10 rental days per month from October.
