On the A2 motorway in Potsdam-Mittelmark, a truck collided with a motorhome parked on the hard shoulder. The accident occurred on Monday at around 13:30 between the Wollin and Brandenburg exits. The 84-year-old motorhome driver was standing in front of his vehicle and sustained minor injuries. Damage is estimated at 40,000 euros; traffic towards Berlin was temporarily closed.
On the afternoon of 15 June, on the same motorway between Wollin and Brandenburg, a motorhome and a semi-trailer truck collided. The side impact caused serious damage to the motorhome, while the truck showed friction marks. Traffic towards Berlin was fully closed until 14:24, then reopened, with one lane remaining occupied for accident processing. Police are investigating the cause.
Earlier, on 30 May, a motorhome overturned on the A2 near Burg. The 64-year-old driver and his 63-year-old passenger, Dutch nationals, sustained minor injuries and were taken to hospital. The road was closed for a long period.
In another incident on 7 June in Ansbach, a 62-year-old driver of a Fiat Capron motorhome hit the corner of a bakery wall while turning. The oil pan burst, leaving an oil slick. Damage to the motorhome was about 5,000 euros; it became inoperable and was towed. A 91-year-old female passenger fell inside and hit her head on a step, suffering a laceration; hospitalisation was not required.
