On the afternoon of May 3, 2026, a solar panel detached from a motorhome on the A7 highway between the Mellendorf and Berkhof junctions and fell onto the roadway. Two vehicles—a black Mercedes and a black Mitsubishi—collided with the obstacle, causing total damage of approximately €1,500. The motorhome driver fled the scene; police are seeking witnesses. Authorities describe the wanted vehicle as an older motorhome with a blue roof and blue wheel arches, with an elderly man in a hat in the passenger seat.
