On Monday afternoon, a self-built camper van parked on Alpenstraße in Gröbenzell, Bavaria, caught fire. The interior of the vehicle was completely destroyed. Firefighters were alerted around 3:20 PM and found that residents had already largely contained the blaze. Crews in breathing apparatus fully extinguished the fire and removed the batteries. No injuries or damage to nearby buildings were reported. Damage is estimated at a high five-figure euro amount. Olching police suspect a technical defect as the cause.
