On the evening of 15 May 2026, a motorhome blocked the Balmbergstrasse in Welschenrohr (canton Solothurn, Switzerland) for nearly three hours. The 73-year-old driver disregarded a sign prohibiting vehicles over 3.5 tonnes and became stuck in a tight right-hand curve. The incident occurred around 17:30 as the man was driving from Welschenrohr towards Balmberg.
A tow truck was required to free the vehicle. The road was completely closed for about three hours. According to police, the driver was not injured.
