A 45-year-old man died on Friday after a head-on collision between a van and a motorhome on the B207 highway between Heiligenhafen and Großenbrode (Ostholstein district). Resuscitation attempts at the scene were unsuccessful. The 55-year-old motorhome driver sustained minor injuries; his female passenger was unharmed. According to initial findings, the van gradually drifted into oncoming traffic. After the crash, gas leaked from the motorhome and was safely released by firefighters. The cause of the accident remains unclear; an expert has been called in.
