On June 17 at around 4 p.m., a camper van caught fire on the A75 near the Pas-de-l'Escalette tunnel. The flames spread to roadside vegetation, forcing the closure of the highway in both directions and causing major traffic jams. Three hectares of land burned; two Canadair aircraft and a water bomber were deployed. No homes were threatened.
