On May 12, a fully engulfed RV fire occurred at a remote location near 7 Mile Dam, over two and a half hours southwest of Cranbrook. Fire crews extinguished the blaze and prevented it from spreading to the surrounding forest. An examination of the scene later revealed two deceased individuals. Police have stated the fire is not suspicious and no foul play is suspected. The BC Coroners Service has taken over the investigation.
