Caravan stuck at crossing: driver ran red light

After almost 70 years, Bürstner has stopped making caravans — and nobody was particularly surprised once sales had fallen by a third. Camping site owner Henrik Lund reported illegal camping by ten motorhomes, three tents, and several cars at Pøls Rev beach in South Als. The municipality of Sønderborg will not allocate resources to send parking attendants to beaches, said Kirsten Bachmann, chair of the city development, rural districts, and infrastructure committee. Instead, she proposes clarifying where camping is allowed and engaging in dialogue with camping site owners.

Sannes Familiecamping ApS in Gudhjem, Denmark, reported a net profit of DKK 3.59 million for 2025, up from DKK 3.42 million the previous year. The company's equity increased to DKK 16.5 million. Directors are Lykke Marlene Rodin and Henrik Astrup Sørensen; no board of directors exists.

Henrik Lund, owner of Lysabildskov Camping on the island of Als, reported a surge in illegal motorhome parking on beaches. During the first weekend of May, he counted 10 motorhomes, three tents, and several cars at Pøls Rev beach, more than the number of guests at his campsite. Danish law prohibits overnight camping in motorhomes on beaches, allowing only short stops. The Sønderborg municipality is considering restrictions but has not yet implemented specific measures.

Experts warn that a photocopy of your passport left at a hotel or campsite can be used by fraudsters to take out loans or subscriptions. Hotels are required to register guests, but noting name, address, and stay dates is sufficient—a full copy is unnecessary. It is recommended to prepare a redacted copy in advance or offer an alternative, such as a credit card as a guarantee.
