On August 8 at around 4:43 p.m., seven people, including a family, were stung by hornets at a campsite in Boryeong and taken to a hospital. According to the South Chungcheong Fire Department, a sudden gust of wind shook a tree, disturbing a hornet nest. The victims are in non-life-threatening condition. Data from the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency shows that 71.9% of insect sting incidents from 2021 to 2025 occurred between July and September, with nearly half happening on weekends.
