On the evening of July 28, on the A14 motorway (northbound carriageway) near the viaduct over the Salinello river, a camper and an articulated refrigerated truck collided. According to sources, the camper sustained serious structural damage. The camper driver, a 62-year-old man from Vico del Gargano (Foggia province), was not injured.
Firefighters isolated and secured two gas cylinders (LPG) installed in the camper, eliminating the risk of gas leakage. Police, Autostrade per l'Italia service, and a tow truck were on site. A long traffic jam formed on the northbound carriageway. The incident occurred at around 10:00 PM.
