Germany's foreign ministry has issued a warning for tourists traveling in Sweden in motorhomes and caravans. The ministry reports that thefts and attacks occur "not infrequently even at official campsites." The risk is particularly high in southern and western regions, including Malmö, Trelleborg and Gothenburg, as well as along the E6 highway.
According to one source, around 15 such incidents were recorded in the Gothenburg area in August 2025. Travelers are advised to use guarded parking areas, lock vehicles additionally, avoid leaving valuables in sight, and keep documents separate.
