The German Foreign Office warns of thefts and attacks on owners of motorhomes and caravans in Sweden. According to the authority, such crimes are widespread, including at official campsites. Particularly dangerous are transit routes in the south and west of the country, including the ferry ports of Malmö and Trelleborg, as well as the E6 highway. In August 2025, police reported a series of about 15 thefts in the Gothenburg area. It is recommended to choose guarded campsites, use additional locks, and not leave valuables in sight.
