A camper van crashed into a queue of cars on the A9 motorway in Thuringia, Germany. The driver failed to notice the end of the traffic jam, which had formed after a previous accident involving an overturned horse trailer.
Police reported nine injured, one seriously. However, another source states 34 people were injured, including several children, all with minor to moderate injuries. Nine vehicles were damaged, including two minibuses carrying 11 children with special needs and their attendants.
The damage is estimated at approximately 350,000 euros. The motorway towards Berlin was closed for about five and a half hours.
