On Friday afternoon, a car and a camper van collided on the A20 towards Lübeck near Dummersdorf (Rostock district). According to police, the 66-year-old car driver was pulling out of a parking area onto the motorway and failed to yield to the camper van driven by a 70-year-old man. Both drivers were injured, one seriously, and taken to hospital.
Three ambulances, a helicopter, and four fire engines were on scene. Traffic towards Lübeck was blocked for an hour, then reopened on one lane. One source reports total damage of about 50,000 euros. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
