Accident on the A20 (June 12, 2026)
On the A20 motorway towards Lübeck, near Dummerstorf (Rostock district), a car and an RV collided. The 66-year-old car driver was exiting a parking lot (Quellental-Nord) onto the acceleration lane and failed to yield to an RV driven by a 70-year-old man. Both drivers were injured, one seriously, and taken to hospital. Three ambulances, a helicopter, and four fire engines were on scene. Traffic towards Lübeck was closed for an hour, then reopened in one lane. Damage was estimated at around €50,000.
Accident at the B426 and L3065 intersection (June 26, 2026)
On the evening of June 26 in Otzberg (Hesse), a minibus and an RV collided. The 66-year-old minibus driver from North Rhine-Westphalia, traveling from Nieder-Klingen, intended to cross the intersection towards Habitzheim. At that moment, a collision occurred with an RV driven by a 43-year-old man from the Darmstadt-Dieburg district, traveling on the B426 from Reinheim towards Lengfeld. Both drivers were seriously injured; one was airlifted to hospital. An independent expert has been appointed to investigate. The intersection was fully closed until 11:45 PM.
Accident in Calw (April 3, 2026)
In Calw (Baden-Württemberg), two RVs collided head-on. According to police, a 59-year-old driver crossed into oncoming traffic, possibly due to a medical issue, and hit an RV driven by an 82-year-old. The 59-year-old was trapped in his cab and had to be freed by firefighters; he was hospitalized, but the severity of his injuries is unclear. His 55-year-old passenger was unharmed. In the other RV, the 82-year-old driver and his 71-year-old passenger sustained minor injuries. Damage was estimated at €200,000; both RVs were destroyed, and a parked car was also damaged. The road was closed for several hours.
