On Saturday, August 1, on the AP-7 highway near Benicàssim (Castellón), a truck collided with a motorhome that had stopped on the hard shoulder due to a flat tire. According to the Emergency Information and Coordination Center (CICU), a 13-year-old girl died. Two other passengers—a 48-year-old woman and a 15-year-old girl—were hospitalized with multiple injuries at Castellón hospital. The truck driver was unharmed.
The accident occurred around 12:15 at kilometer 422 in the direction of Tarragona. SAMU and advanced nursing life support units were dispatched to the scene. Traffic toward Barcelona is disrupted, with queues reported at six kilometers by some sources and four kilometers by others. The cause of the collision is under investigation.
According to Todo Benicàssim, the accident occurred at kilometer 420 in the direction of Barcelona; the motorhome reportedly stopped due to a possible flat tire. Three passengers were not seriously injured but needed help for shock. The right lane was closed, with queues up to four kilometers. The Civil Guard is investigating. The accident occurred during the DGT August operation, which expects 5.6 million trips.

According to Levante-EMV, the deceased is 13-year-old Eva from Sagunto, a promising agility athlete who represented Spain at the Junior Agility Open in Germany. She was traveling with her family to a competition in Barcelona. At the time of the crash, Eva and her dog Pan were inside the motorhome and died.
