A Mercedes-Benz 1418 motorhome was destroyed by fire in the Tomaz Coelho district of Brusque, Brazil, on the night of 27 October. Firefighters were called at 22:53 to Rua José Dubiela, number 910, and three appliances were sent.
When crews arrived, the motorhome was almost completely in flames, apart from the bedroom and the engine compartment. Firefighters first used a small hose, then a foam line with about 60 litres of foam solution. That was not enough to put out the fire, so they continued with pressurised water. They used about 14,000 litres of water and then carried out overhaul to eliminate any remaining hotspots inside the vehicle. Most of the motorhome was consumed by the flames, while the engine compartment, the engine and its components were preserved.
After the fire was out, the crew returned to the station but was called back because the fire had reignited. Appliances ABTR-247 and ABTR-270 were sent again. Firefighters used another 10 litres of foam, forming a layer over the vehicle, until the fire was fully extinguished. The owner stayed at the scene during the operation. There is no information about injuries or the cause of the fire.
