On Monday, January 27, a motorhome based on a Marcopolo/Volare was completely destroyed by fire in the Santa Maria neighborhood of Chapecó, Santa Catarina state, Brazil. According to reports, the fire started around 4:00–4:10 p.m. when the owner turned on the engine and air conditioning, which was connected to the house's 220V electrical supply. The flames quickly engulfed the vehicle.
Before firefighters arrived, a water truck from Oliveira company began extinguishing the fire. Firefighters used about 2,000 liters of water and 5 liters of foam concentrate to put out remaining hotspots. Inside were a bed, furniture, and an air conditioner—all destroyed. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
