On Sunday, a motorhome was destroyed by fire at Starved Rock Family Campground in LaSalle County, Illinois. Firefighters arrived within 20 minutes, but the vehicle was already fully engulfed. The owner rescued one dog; a second dog perished. No people were injured, but three neighboring campers sustained heat damage. The Red Cross is assisting the owner.
Earlier, on the morning of May 22, a Siesta motorhome parked in front of a garage caught fire in Syracuse, Indiana. The fire spread to the garage and the house, damaging siding. The motorhome was completely destroyed; the cause of the fire has not been determined.
