On the A9 motorway in southern Thuringia, 34 people were injured, including several children, in a rear-end collision. The driver of a motorhome failed to notice the end of a traffic jam and struck nine vehicles, including two minibuses carrying 11 children with high support needs. The motorway was closed towards Berlin for about five and a half hours; property damage is estimated at around 326,000 francs.
