Charles Howard Gillihan, 72, of Mountain View attempted to remove snakes from his RV's vent by pouring alcohol on them and lighting it. The fire spread to neighboring vehicles at Green Acres RV Park on May 8.
Two campers were destroyed, including his own, and another camper, a van and a motorcycle were damaged. Gillihan faces charges of reckless burning, criminal vandalism (according to one source) or first-degree criminal mischief (according to another), and public intoxication. He was released on a $35,000 bond.
