Two incidents of road blockades by caravan convoys have been reported in France.
Incident in La Boissière (May 31)
On May 31, 2026, a convoy of 120 caravans from the traveler community occupied an area in La Boissière near Lisieux (Calvados). Traffic was diverted for two hours.
Incident in Montrond-les-Bains (April 3)
On April 3, 2026, a convoy of 57 caravans blocked the main roads of Montrond-les-Bains in the Loire department for five hours. The travelers, heading from Roanne to Lyon, stopped due to a lack of available spaces at parking areas in Feurs and Andrézieux-Bouthéon, where work was underway. Authorities allowed them to temporarily settle on a field opposite the JOA casino, despite an existing ban due to a planned fireworks display.
