On April 22, 2026, 60 caravans of travelling people illegally occupied the Léo Lagrange sports field in Parempuyre near Bordeaux. Mayor Henri Lagarrigue set a non-negotiable deadline of 15 days for evacuation, demanded absolute cleanliness, and requested a financial contribution to the municipal social center. The occupation occurred due to the delayed opening of designated areas by Bordeaux Métropole, which are unavailable until May.
