On the night of April 29 in Küçükçekmece, Istanbul, the Kocaman family of four was injured when their caravan, parked near their home, exploded. According to doctors, the 45-year-old mother sustained burns to about 70% of her body and lung damage, spent 16 days in a coma, and underwent around 20 surgeries. The father suffered 40% burns, and their children aged 7 and 9 had various burns; all have been discharged. The explosion is believed to have been caused by a gas leak when a lighter was ignited. Doctors warn that gas connections in caravans must be made by qualified professionals with a pressure regulator, and in case of burns, the affected area should be cooled under running water for 20–30 minutes.
