In the Colonia department, a man was sentenced to ten months in prison under probation for using a fake license plate on a Mercedes Benz motorhome. The investigation began after police received a tip about a vehicle with a mismatched plate. It was found that the motorhome bore a plate from a 1973 Volkswagen. During a raid in Nueva Helvecia, the motorhome was seized and its 58-year-old owner arrested. The court convicted him of receiving stolen goods and vehicle plate forgery.
