A growing encampment on the south side of Swan Lake is causing concerns for local RV residents at the nearby Lake Front RV Park. Resident Richard Beauvis, who has lived there for over three years, reports that the encampments began appearing at Christmas and have worsened since. He states that campers are encroaching on the bush, stealing propane tanks, and that birds are disappearing due to garbage. The area falls under Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO) jurisdiction, and bylaw officers have previously cleaned up encampments but issues persist.
