On Saturday afternoon, a motorhome overturned on the A2 motorway near Burg (Jerichow district). The 64-year-old driver, heading towards Berlin, for an undetermined reason veered left, hit the crash barrier, then swerved right, overturned and came to rest on the right guardrail. The driver and his 63-year-old passenger, both Dutch nationals, sustained minor injuries and were taken to hospital.
According to police, the motorhome first veered left and struck the central barrier, then moved right, overturned and stopped on the right protective beam. The cause of the accident is under investigation. During recovery and clearance, traffic was severely disrupted, with a queue of about 5 km between the Burg-Zentrum and Burg-Ost junctions.
