Italy's Guardia di Finanza seized more than 70 kg of drugs from a Spanish-registered camper van in Ternate, Varese province. The haul is valued at approximately 5 million euros. Two Spanish nationals aged 55 and a 34-year-old Italian resident of Varese province were arrested on charges of drug trafficking and possession of improper weapons. Searches recovered 49 kg of marijuana, 19 kg of cocaine, nearly 2 kg of hashish, 72 g of heroin, 233 LSD stamps, 200 ecstasy pills, 6,600 euros in cash and two precision scales. Part of the cocaine had been mixed with methamphetamine and artificially flavoured with strawberry, grape, coconut and melon. A taser, machete, baseball bat, telescopic baton and folding knife were also found.
