Fire in Amsterdam
A major fire broke out around 05:40 on Sunday morning at campsite 't Landje on Westpoortweg in Amsterdam, destroying seven caravans. The fire was contained by 07:55. According to source 1, the fire was extinguished by morning; source 3 reports firefighters were still extinguishing it. No injuries have been reported.
Evacuation and aftermath
Police evacuated the area and closed part of the road in both directions. Due to heavy smoke, safety services advised residents to close windows and doors and turn off ventilation. Temporary accommodation has been arranged for residents of the destroyed caravans. Firefighters and a crane are working at the scene to dismantle burnt structures. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
