At around 4pm on 25 October, a camper van travelling from Iwaki towards Koriyama rear-ended a passenger car on a national road in the village of Hirata, Fukushima Prefecture. The car driver, 60-year-old Mitsue Honda, was taken to hospital unconscious and later confirmed dead. Police are investigating the cause of the collision. There is a junction near the crash site.
