84-year-old Dutch woman finds stolen camper with tracker

According to a new ranking by the camping platform PiNCAMP, three of the five most popular campsites in the Netherlands are located in Zeeland, with the top two spots also held by campsites in that province. The first place goes to Ardoer Comfortcamping Scheldeoord in Baarland, and the second to Landschapscamping Kijkuit in Zonnemaire. The top five also includes Camping De Zeehoeve (Friesland), Papillon Country Resort (Overijssel), and RCN de Schotsman (Zeeland). All five campsites are situated near water. The ranking is based on page views from January 1 to July 31, 2026, and only campsites with at least four reviews and an average score of at least 7 out of 10 were considered.

Lume Traveler from Holten has introduced the Lume Ranger, a more compact and lighter caravan with a starting price of €59,950. The Ranger has an unladen weight of 1,150 kg and a maximum permissible weight of 1,500 kg, making it the lightest caravan the company has developed. The body is 3.60 meters long and 2.04 meters wide. Inside, there is a double bed, a seating/dining area, and a bathroom, while the kitchen is located outside and slides out to 1.5 meters. The caravan features an aluminum body and a pop-up roof. The world premiere will take place on August 28, 2026, at the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf.

On Wednesday afternoon, an explosion occurred in a camper parked on Potlodenlaan in Bergen op Zoom, injuring one person. A trauma helicopter was called to the scene, and the victim was subsequently taken to hospital by ambulance. The nature of the injuries and the cause of the explosion have not been disclosed, and it is unclear whether the person was inside the camper at the time.

In the Netherlands, 575 motorhomes from Adria, Elios and Sun Living have been recalled due to a possible welding defect in the ISOFIX child seat mounts. In a collision, the mount can break, increasing the risk of injury to a child. Owners are advised not to use these mounts until they are checked by a dealer. Worldwide, the recall affects nearly 16,000 vehicles.
